Too Young?

15 year old MacKenzie Walker has accomplished more than most people twice her age. She has accumulated nearly 60,000 Instagram followers, written a book, started a business as an online trainer and coach.

However, the most impressive of all of her accomplishments is the fact that MacKenzie has lost 100 pounds – And kept it off.

Dad Scott Walker says “She never misses the gym” and will so committed to her nutrition plan that she often has been known to say “Dad, I don’t have the macronutrients for that” When offered some ice cream. “She won’t cheat on her diet” her father continues.

MacKenzie’s dream? To be Ms. Olympia of course!

After her parent’s divorce MacKenzie lived with her dad and brother in Windsor, Ontario doing what a lot of young people do, watch Youtube videos and eat junk food – Entering high school at 200 pounds.

Screen shot 2016-02-21 at 7.39.08 PMSo what prompted MacKenzie to make such a dramatic change to her self and her life? Walking the halls thinking people are staring at her as “the fat girl”. Weeks later she’d had enough. Between September 24 2013 and March 2014 she had lost 70 pounds.

After trying different kinds of dieting tricks like low-carb diets, carb-cycling and clean eating she finally settled in on counting macronutrients, the plan she still follows today.

Make no mistake, we applaud MacKenzie for her success in taking charge of her health and making the necessary changes. But we pose the question to you…. Is 15 too early for our industry to be influencing people? What are you thoughts?
